Abstract:The use of general anesthesia for surgery on the thoracic and pelvic limbs can present challenges such as the adequate control of intraoperative and postoperative anesthesia and a high use of intravenous opioids that can expose the patient to additional complications such as nausea and/or postoperative vomiting and even respiratory depression.
