Abstract:McArdle disease (glycogen storage disorder type V) is a rare inherited condition resulting in impaired energy metabolism. Challenges in anesthetized patients with McArdle disease include hypoglycemia, rhabdomyolysis, myoglobinuria, acute renal failure, and postoperative fatigue.
