Anesthetic Management of a Young Adult with Complex Congenital Heart Disease and Bronchopleural Fistula for Rigid Bronchoscopy

Abstract: The number of adults with congenital heart disease and those who require anesthetic care are increasing. We describe the anesthetic management of a young adult with palliated complex congenital heart disease and a chronic postsurgical bronchopleural fistula for rigid bronchoscopy. Perioperative considerations in the care of patients with single ventricle physiology for noncardiac procedures are reviewed.
