Abstract: Atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) is an endogenous cardiac hormone that binds to guanylyl‐cyclase/natriuretic peptide receptor‐A (GC‐A/NPRA) and regulates sodium excretion, water balance, and steroidogenesis; all directed toward the reduction of blood pressure and blood volume.
