Abstract:The contribution to the heat capacity and equilibrium pressure of the vapour over crystals due to the anharmonicity of atomic vibrations is calculated. It is shown that the anharmonicity changes the temperature dependence of the saturation pressure. This change is simply connected with the anharmonic addition to the heat capacity. In the high temperature region the vapour density over the crystal is increased several times due to the anharmonism. The corresponding temperature addition may be about 10%. The tem… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
