Anion recognition: fabrication of a highly selective and sensitive HPO4(2-) PVC sensor based on a oxo-molybdenum methyl-salen

Show more

“…The variation of the flat band voltage (▵V FB ) was plotted versus pH and showed almost stable potential between pH 7 and pH 8 (Figure B). The variation of the potential at pH ≤ 7 could be related to the protonation of the ionophore in the membrane which resulted in a loss of its ability to interact with normalHnormalPnormalO42- ions ,. At higher pH (>8.0), the potential increasing may be attributed to the formation of hydroxyl‐complexes of Cu 2+ in solution.…”

“…The specificity is one of the most important characteristics of a chemical sensor. The capacitance chemical sensor Al−Cu/Si‐p/SiO 2 /Si 3 N 4 /Cu(II)Pc‐PAA has demonstrated a higher preference for normalHnormalPnormalO42- ions when compared to other examined ions such as chloride Cl − , sulfate normalSnormalO42- , carbonate normalCnormalO32- and perchlorate normalCnormalInormalO42- . The flat‐band voltage shift ΔV FB of these interferences was plotted and compared to the responses of normalHnormalPnormalO42-4pt (Figure ).…”

“…The lowest detection limit among these sensors belongs to a derivative of (tetraphenylporphyrinato)cobalt(III) acetate based CGE and is about 2.0 × 10 -8 M [195]. The HPO 4 2-sensors that have been reported were based on vanadyl [198,199] and molybdenum [200,201] complexes and showed almost Nernstian potential slopes. There have been quite a lot reports on PMEs [202][203][204][205][206][207][208][209][210][211][212][213][214][215][216][217] and a few CGEs [208,212] for SCN -ion.…”

“…The most utilized groups for the purpose of anion binding by hydrogen bonds are amide, thioamide, and amine functions 10, 11. Phosphate levels having a negative effect on aquatic ecology and water quality in freshwaters have increased in the past 50 years 12. With increasing use of phosphate fertilizers in agricultural industries, monitoring of phosphate ions becomes very important.…”
