Abstract:The Na(+)/H(+) exchanger has been the only unequivocally demonstrated H(+)-transport mechanism in the synaptosomal preparation. We had previously suggested that a Cl(-)-H(+) symporter (in its acidifying mode) is involved in cytosolic pH regulation in the synaptosomal preparation.
