Anisotropic phase diagram and strong coupling effects inBa1xKxFe2As2

Abstract: We present a thermodynamic study of the phase diagram of single-crystal Ba 1−x K x Fe 2 As 2 using specific-heat measurements. In zero-magnetic field a clear step in the heat capacity of ⌬C / T c = 0.1 J / mol K 2 is observed at T c Ϸ 34.6 K for a sample with x = 0.4. This material is characterized by extraordinarily high slopes of the upper critical field of 0 ‫ץ‬ H c2 c / ‫ץ‬T = −6.5 T / K and 0 ‫ץ‬ H c2 ab / ‫ץ‬T = −17.4 T / K and a surprisingly low anisotropy of ⌫ ϳ 2.6 near T c . A consequence of the larg… Show more

“…A clear jump was observed at T c in Ba 0.6 K 0.4 Fe 2 As 2 . It is consistent with a previous report [20,21]. However, the jump cannot be seen in Ba 0.2 K 0.8 Fe 2 As 2 .…”

“…There, the deviation function is plotted by the closed symbols, showing no difference between the data and the theory. For comparison, the deviation function of a (Ba, K)Fe 2 As 2 sample [22] is displayed showing a typical feature related to the two-gap superconductivity. Thus, our heat-capacity measurements clearly show the single s-wave gap superconductivity in the system.…”

“…Experiments on this system includes, local magnetization [3], resistivity and bulk magnetization [4,5], specific heat [6,7,8], magneto-resistance [9], NMR [10], thermalconductivity [11], ARPES [12,13], electronic-relaxation [14], vortex-dynamics [15], combined muon-spin rotation, neutron scattering and magnetic force spectroscopy [16] among others, but fluctuations studies are still lacking, which motivated this investigation.…”
