Annealing Reactions in Cesium Arsenate Following Radiative Neutron Capture

Abstract: Thermal annealing of the fragments containing 76 As, produced by (η, γ) activation of cesium arsenate shows the recombination reaction to be a complex one. The annealing curves although following the usual pattern, could not be fitted to first order kinetics. On successfully applying the FLETCHER and BROWN'S model to the thermal annealing data, the fraction annealed was found to consist of two terms: Φ = 0.3 (1-e-'/«) + 0.6 (1-erf γ20¡t).Subjecting the samples to radiation following (η, γ) irradiation the rete… Show more

“…The radiation annealing effect due to the photons of the latter source appear in the results of the Fletcher-Brown treatment of the annealing data [18,19], Selenium 75 SeOj doping potassium selenate is oxidized into 75 Se0 4 on thermal annealing. Very careful measurements (with probably a hereto unsurpassed number of experimental data) show that three different steps are involved in the annealing process, corresponding to different positions of the dopant in the matrix.…”
