Annealing Temperature Dependence of Upconversion Phosphor of TiO2-ZnO Doped with Yb3+ and Tm3+

Abstract: In this paper, we report on the annealing temperature dependence of the upconversion (UC) phosphor of TiO 2 -ZnO doped with Yb 3+ and Tm 3+ . We prepared samples using metal-organic decomposition (MOD) solutions and Tm 2 O 3 powder, which were analyzed in terms of their photoluminescence (PL) spectra and crystal structures. The PL spectra showed a blue UC phosphor band at a wavelength of 476 nm. The emission intensity was greatest after annealing at 850 °C. By analyzing the crystal structures using an X-ray di… Show more

“…In the previous study, we developed Nd-doped BGO, and it showed NIR scintillation with a good dose rate response comparable to the reported lowest detection limit. 33) In terms of emission centers, Yb 3+ has been used as a NIR luminescence center in laser 34) and upconversion 35) fields since Yb 3+ emits NIR photons around 1000 nm [36][37][38] which is a close wavelength to that of the NIR emission of Nd 3+ . In addition, Yb-doped sesquioxides showed an efficient NIR scintillation.…”
