Anomalous gauge boson interactions

Abstract: We discuss the direct measurement of the trilinear vector boson couplings in present and future collider experiments. The major goals of such experiments will be the confirmation of the Standard Model (SM) predictions and the search for signals of new physics. We review our current theoretical understanding of anomalous trilinear gauge-boson self interactions. If the energy scale of the new physics is ∼ 1 TeV, these low energy anomalous couplings are expected to be no larger than O(10 −2 ).Constraints from hig… Show more

“…For what concerns the quantitative theoretical predictions for each of these neutral couplings, very little has been said up to now [5,6,7,8], in contrary to the of the charged (ZW W and γW W ) self-couplings for which several types of predictions had been given since a long time [9,10,11]. A reappraisal of the theoretical expectations for these neutral couplings, is still lacking.…”

“…≃ m 2 Z ) among the multiplets; like e.g. between the heavy lepton and the heavy quark doublets, then the resulting couplings are of the order m 4 Z /M 4 F , which means that they are suppressed by an extra power m 2 Z /M 2 F as compared to (9)(10)(11). This case corresponds to a spontaneous broken SU(2) × U(1) situation.…”
