Major challenging issue in H-MANETs (Heterogeneous Mobile Ad hoc Networks) is video transmission because it gets affected due to various factors like dynamic change in topology, interference, node mobility, collusion, and so on. Periodic connection is caused by the topology dynamic change, which leads to significant packet loss. Advancements provide the technical basis for video streaming over H-MANETs in wireless networking and mobile devices. And efforts to achieve video transmission via H-MANETs have run into some barriers, which have been overcome in various ways. Nonetheless, H-MANETs are essential to provide video transmission certainty and quality provisioning. Due to the limited resources, the unreliability of wireless links, node mobility, and heterogeneity, establishing video streaming or enabling real-time multimedia applications over H-MANET with acceptable QoS (quality of service) poses several issues. The article's main goal is to survey QoS-based video transmission in H-MANETs. This study discusses the video transmission method in H-MANET and the importance of the QoS that may be used for video transmission in H-MANET. Various routing protocols and existing methodologies to improve QoS for video transmission in H-MANET are discussed. In addition, the impact of delay in video transmission over H-MANET has been discussed. Several obstacles and issues have been highlighted in providing QoS for video transmission in H-MANET. From 2013 to 2021, a systematic literature review (SLR) is done for QoS-based video transmission in the H-MANET. This survey systematically gives the technical direction for research on QoS-based video transmission and discusses potential future aspects.

In mobile ad hoc networks, nodes are connected and disconnected regularly; since every mobile node travels autonomously, those nodes are dispersed not uniformly. Connection damage has straight consequences on the network characteristics. For that motivation, various techniques are quick and efficient damage of connection identification using alert packet is difficult for that time to identify next connection in a mobile network. It increases end to end delay and reduces the network lifetime. The present effective connection alteration rate- (ECAR-) based communication scheme depends on the details of neighbouring nodes to survey the connection between the connection alteration rate and the hello time gap in terms of entire transmission rate. Nevertheless, the hello time gap tracking algorithm is constructed to increase transmission rate displaying a stable choice of connection alteration rate, still although node velocity alters. It reduces end to end delay and increases the network lifetime. The hello time gap tracking algorithm is constructed in the network, and it obtains effective connection among unstable mobile nodes. Experimental output indicates that the connection alteration rate in general enhances the hello time gap. It provides the effective connection changing rate for analyzing different metrics which are network lifetime. throughput, and detection efficiency that are improved in the proposed ECAR scheme.

Collection line optimisation in wind farms using improved ant colony optimisation

Collection line optimisation plays an important role in reducing the wind farm construction cost and improving the reliability of collector system. First, the optimisation model of collection lines in wind farms is given. Based on the four-vertex-three-line inequality and Prim algorithm, an improved ant colony optimisation algorithm is introduced to minimise the total length of collection lines to reduce their cost. In addition, the K-means clustering algorithm is adopted to partition the total wind turbines into several groups for the improved ant colony optimisation algorithm to search the shortest collection lines. The improved ant colony optimisation algorithm is tested with a wind farm example and compared with the classic ant colony optimisation algorithm. Under the same preconditions, the experimental results show that compared to the classic ant colony optimisation algorithm, the improved ant colony optimisation algorithm finds shorter collection lines in radial configuration for the wind farm. In addition, the improved ant colony optimisation algorithm requires less computation cycles to find better collection lines.
