“…It has demonstrated that NO is an important mediator in ANTU‐induced PAH . NO is a stable free‐radical gaseous intracellular messenger existing in various isoforms, and eNOs is one of the isoforms responsible for generation of vascular endothelium NO . eNOs regulates cellular proliferation, platelet aggregation, vascular tone, and leukocyte adhesion .…”

“…The close involvement of reactive oxygen species (ROS) such as superoxide anion, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), and hydroxyl radical (OH) resulted in many dreaded diseases like cancer, Alzheimer's disease, aging, inflammation, rheumatoid arthritis, and atherosclerosis [20,21]. Now a day various studies havebeen reported on the crucial role of antioxidant and radical-scavenging mechanism in various antiinflammatory, anti-arthritic, anti-diabetic, anti-convulsant, antiulcer, cardioprotective, hepatoprotective, neuroprotective, and wound healing potential of drugs [22][23][24]. The 2-diphenyl-1picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), H2O2 and hydroxyl radical scavenging assay are few of them.…”

“…Before 1 h of injecting of carrageenan, the rats were treated with different doses of H. plantifolius, ibuprofen, and 10% DMSO [6]. The volume of paw edema was measured by dislocation of the water column in a plethysmometer [7] immediately after carrageenan injection at 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 h. The average paw volume was measured and compared with control and standard groups. Reduction in the paw volume in H. plantifolius pretreated groups compared with the control animals was considered as anti-inflammatory response ( Table 1).…”
