Neurological complications related to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection have been increasingly reported. One of the most serious neurological complications is encephalitis, which could be due either to direct viral invasion or an immune-mediated inflammatory reaction. In this study, we conducted a systematic review of reported cases of autoimmune encephalitis mediated by <i>N</i>-methyl-ᴅ-aspartate receptor antibodies in conjunction with or after diagnosis of COVID-19 infection.
