Anti-NMDAR encephalitis antibodies cause long-lasting degradation of the hippocampal neural representation of memory

Abstract: N-methyl D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) encephalitis is an immune-mediated disorder characterized by a complex neuropsychiatric syndrome together with a reduction of NMDAR. Although in most patients the life-threatening symptoms of the acute stage resolve with immunotherapy, memory and executive functions remain altered for several months or years.
