Anti-oxidative, acetylcholinesterase and pancreatic lipase inhibitory activities of compounds from Dasiphora fruticosa, Myricaria alopecuroides and Sedum hybridum

Abstract: Total of 35 phenolics and flavonols were isolated from flowers and leaves of Dasiphora fruticosa Rydb., from branches of Myricaria alopecuroides Schrenk. and from the herb of Sedum hybridum L. The isolated compounds were identified on the basis of spectral data and tested for their anti-oxidative, acetylcholinesterase and pancreatic lipase inhibitory activities.Quercetin glycosides, gallic acid, (-)EGCG and gossypetin-8-O-xylopyranoside tellimagrandin II exhibited strong anti-oxidative activity by the DPPH sca… Show more

“…Previously, the AChE inhibitory activity of the twig and fruit methanol extracts of C.integerrimus was determined with results IC 50 , 1.07 mg/mL and 1.72 mg/mL, while the twig methanol extract of C.nummularia gave 4.77 mg GALAEs/g (galanthamine equivalent) extract, respectively [15,16]. In our experiments, methanol extracts of C.mongolica leaves and fruits at 1mg/mL concentration exhibited comparable activities against AChE enzyme with over 60 % inhibition, which is the same level as ethanol extract, ethylacetate and n-butanol fractions of Dasiphora fruticosa leaves, as well as the ethylacetate fraction of Myricaria alopecuroides branches [17]. The experiments were carried out in the same conditions.…”

“…Also, Ganoderma alucidum extract has AChE inhibition due to its valuable phenolic antioxidants like quercetin, catechin, and rutin [51]. Catechin isolated from Dasiphora fruticosa shows AChE inhibition with IC 50 1.042mM [52]. Pyrogallol a prominent polyphenol found in various fruits and vegetables was able to observe as an effective AChEI showing the IC 50 value of 10.22 μM [53].…”
