Anti-Rollover Warning Control of Dump Truck Lifting Operation Based on Active Suspension

Abstract: The flexible parts of the dump truck such as the suspension, tires and cargo box can affect the roll stability of the vehicle during the lifting process. In order to improve the adverse effects of these flexible parts on the roll stability of the dump truck during lifting, and to prevent the vehicle from rolling over, this paper proposes an anti-rollover warning control method based on active suspension. The nonlinear model of the lift and roll of the dump truck is established by considering the influence of e… Show more

“…Additionally, using a gyro stabilizer to limit rollover is an exciting solution presented by Zhang et al in [20]. Besides, the combined use of active steering [21,22], active braking [23,24], active suspension [25][26][27], and several other active control systems also helps to improve this problem [28][29][30]. Tires play an important role in ensuring the car's stability when steering.…”

“…In the study [13], the authors established a multi-body dynamics model of a dump truck using SIMPACK software, providing displacement, velocity, and acceleration results for various stages, although without theoretical calculations. In [14], a nonlinear model of the lifting and rolling process of dump trucks was established by considering the influence of elastic deformation of tires, suspension systems, and torsional deformation of cargo boxes on the rolling movement of the vehicle. In [15], the authors presented the oscillation of a hydraulic boom suspended freely during rotation, highlighting the significant influence of hydraulic valve control on the operational process.…”

“…Finally, the effectiveness of the model was verified through real vehicle experiments. Guan et al 27 proposed an anti-rollover early warning control method for dump truck lifting based on active suspension, and verified by simulation that this method can effectively improve the stability of heavy dump truck lifting and unloading process. Li and Wang 28 proposed an auxiliary unloading device for heavy dump truck, established a virtual prototype model of the device, and verified by simulation that the model can shorten the unloading time and prevent dump truck rollover.…”
