“…Staph aureus isolates were screened for methicillin resistance by disc diffusion method using oxacillin (1µg) and cefoxitin (30µg) disc and by determination of minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of oxacillin by agar dilution method per recommendation of CLSI method 10 . The discrepancies of the result were confirmed by PCR assay which is gold standard method for detection of mecA gene by using specific primers 27,28 .
