“…Only one isolate in this collection, SK460 from 198 1, displayed high-level gentamicin resistance ( > 4096 mg/L) and was additionally resistant to tobramycin, kanamycin, neomycin and amikacin (GTKNAR); SK460 has been described previously (Lyon et al, 1984a). The aminoglycoside MICs for GTKR, GTKNR and GTKNAR strains in this study were equivalent to those displayed by strains of similar phenotypes isolated from another Melbourne hospital (Gillespie et al, 1984). The MICs of tobramycin, kanamycin and neomycin for TKNR strains were 64, 64 and 128 mg/L, respectively.…”
