Anticholinergic, Antidiabetic and Antioxidant Activities of Ferula orientalis L. Determination of Its Polyphenol Contents by LC-HRMS

Abstract: To evaluate the antioxidant activity of evaporated ethanolic extract of Ferula orientalis L. (EEFO) and lyophilized water extract of Ferula orientalis L. (WEFO) several in vitro antioxidant methods such as ABTS•+ scavenging activity, DPPH· scavenging activity, Fe3+reduction method, cupric ions (Cu2+) reduction capacity, and metal ion (Fe2+)-binding activities using ferrozine reagent were separately performed. Also, BHT, α-tocopherol and ascorbic acid were used as the standard antioxidant molecules. Moreover, s… Show more

“…[29][30][31] DM has become a chronic metabolic disorder that has become a rapidly increasing epidemic in some countries of the world due to the increase in the aging population and inadequate health services. [32][33][34] However, it is well known that carbohydrate-related enzyme inhibitors such as α-glycosidase (α-Gly) by delaying glucose absorption such as acarbose (ACR), voglibose, and miglitol are some of the most effective control methods to overcome postprandial hyperglycemia. The α-Gly inhibitors have a large drug potential.…”

“…To determine the ABTS radical scavenging effects of EDOA and EDOR, the method in a prior study was used [ 58 ]. For determination of ABTS +• scavenging effects of EDOA and EDOR, the previously given method was used [ 59 , 60 , 61 ]. First, 2.45 mM persulfate solution was added to 2 mM ABTS solution to generate ABTS radicals.…”
