Anticipation of Monetary Reward Can Attenuate the Vigilance Decrement

Abstract: Motivation and reward can have differential effects on separate aspects of sustained attention. We previously demonstrated that continuous reward/punishment throughout a sustained attention task improves overall performance, but not vigilance decrements.
