Abstract: Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a serious complication of major orthopaedic surgery of the lower limbs. Prophylaxis therapy for VTE is important for patients who undergo orthopaedic surgery; pharmacological prophylaxis is one of the more effective therapies.
