Abstract: Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) are important innate defense molecules having wide spectrum of bioactivities like antibacterial, antifungal, antiparasitic and antiviral activities. The primary role of AMPs is to exert cytotoxicity on the invading pathogenic microorganisms and serve as immune modulators in higher organisms.
