“…This observation corroborates with those found by KUMAR et al (2008), where they reported that total specific IgG levels did not differ statistically from control values in foals at the age of two months. Further, a study performed by our group (VIANNA et al, 2019), suggests the administration of a third dose around 60 days after the first vaccination in horses using rEMA-2. Specific IgG ELISA results demonstrated that foals born from mares vaccinated against S. equi had an increase of 34.3 times de initial optical density after colostrum absorption, whereas foals born from control mares had an increase of only 5.9 times the initial optical density.…”
