Abstract:trismus is due to the chronic bilateral muscular strain, probably from the sternocleidomastoid muscles.A previous case-control study 6 demonstrates that congenital muscular torticollis results in ipsilateral mastoid process hypertrophy with approximately 10 cm 3 difference between both the case control group and within the study group when comparing one side to the other.
