“…[7] To the best of our knowledge,e lemental antimony or bismuth have not been used as reagents for the synthesis of metal-polypnictide complexes at all. [9] Evans et al reductively cleaved Sb À Cb onds by using Sb(n-Bu) 3 3 ]·4py (py = pyridine;L n = La, Y, Ho,E r, Lu) were synthesized from K 5 Sb 4 and [Ln(benzyl) 3 (thf) 3 ]. [8] In rare-earth chemistry,L ayfield et al disclosed the Zintl like organostibide ligand [Sb 4 Mes 3 ] 3 À as part of adysprosium-containing single-molecule magnet.…”

“…[4c] However, even given these important and elegant discoveries, there are still no synthetic procedures that would allow altering the nature of both the TM and the Ln ion systematically in an isostructural family of Ln À TM bonded complexes.T hese systems would be important contributions towards ap hysical description of the nature of LnÀTM bonding.T here is currently an ongoing debate about the degree of covalencyi nm etal-ligand bonding of the fblock elements,a nd recent experimental results are reshaping our understanding of how fblock elements interact with ligands. [8] Whereas SMM behavior has been reported for Ln-main group metal SMMs, [9] to the best of our knowledge,n om agnetization dynamics have been reported for any LnÀTM bonded complexes.
