“…The complete removal of water by the encapsulation process and the fact that the coating core ratio was 1/1 caused an increase in the amount of extract in the microcapsule and thus an increase in the total amount of phenolic substances viceversa. The experimental results showed that HS ethanol-water extract contains 149.67 mgg -1 GAE of phenolics, a lower value compared with those reported for aqueous (186.94 mg GAEg -1 extract), methanol (171.00 mg GAEg -1 extract), and ethanol (262.00 µg GAEmg -1 extract) extracts of HS (Barış et al, 2011;Karatoprak, 2019). The phenolic content of the plant depends on several factors such as the parts used, collection region, collection time, extraction conditions, etc.…”

“…Karatoprak et al. reported the TPC of water and ethanol extracts obtained from the aerial and underground parts of Iranian Hypericum scabrum , as 93.00 mgCA/g extract and 186.94 mg GAE/g extract, respectively [72] . In another study, TPC of methanol extract obtained from the aerial parts of Hypericum lanuginose was stated as 168.56 mg GAE/g extract [73] .…”

[72] In another study, TPC of methanol extract obtained from the aerial parts of Hypericum lanuginose was stated as 168.56 mg GAE/g extract. [73] Zorzetto et al reported the TPC of three different Hypericum species, i. e., Hypericum reflexum, Hypericum canariense, and Hypericum grandifolium as 189.60, 194.10, and 223.90 mgGAE/g extract, respectively.…”

“…The MTT solution prepared at a concentration of 5 mg/mL was diluted 10 times with a culture medium and 100 µL was added to each well. After 4 h of incubation, the wells were emptied and 100 µL of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) was added and left for 10 min [ 63 ]. Finally, absorbance was read using ELISA (Biotek Synergy HT) at 570 nm wavelength.…”
