“…1a, b) were consistent with the previous studies like 1-MCPtreated Bartlett pears (Ekman, Clayton, Biasi, & Mitcham, 2004), Laiyang pears (Li et al, 2013), Conference pears (Chiriboga et al, 2013) and 'd'Anjou' pears (Xie, Song, Wang, & Sugar, 2014).…”

“…Previous studies reported that high activities of active oxygen scavenging enzymes including SOD, CAT and APX were involved in alleviating oxidative damage and delaying the process of senescence (Li et al, 2013;Lin et al, 2014Lin et al, , 2015. Similarly, Chiriboga et al (2013) found that 1-MCP treatment could obviously delay postharvest senescence of Conference pears during cold storage by inducing higher activities of SOD, CAT and APX to decreasing the accumulation of ROS. The reduction of oxidative stress might be one of the reasons why 1-MCP treatment was effective in delaying senescence in Huanghua pears during storage.…”

“…While 1-MCP maintained anthocyanin concentrations, the flavonols and flavan-3-ols were unaffected by treatment (MacLean et al, 2006). The studies by Larrigaudière et al (2004) and Chiriboga et al (2013) indicated that the fruit treated with 1-MCP exhibited higher antioxidant potential, but the research was restricted to related enzymes, especially CAT, SOD, POX and ascorbate peroxidase.…”
