Antiradical Activity of 1,4-and 1,2-Benzene Dicarboxyl Esters From Deinbollia Pinnata Leaves

Abstract: The family Sapindaceae are tropical and sub-tropical continental plants. In this study, 1,4-Benzene dicarboxyl ester (1) and 1,2-Benzene dicarboxyl ester (2) from methanolic extracts of Deinbollia pinnata leaves. The successful separation of the isomeric mixture is by freezing the sub-fraction with methanol for seventy-two hours; followed by filtration, isolation and purification. The compounds were characterized spectroscopically (1H &13C NMR, FTIR and GC-MS). The methanolic extracts showed good DPPH scav… Show more

“…1 and Tables 2 , 3 and 4 ) from Nauclea latifolia roots were selected for docking against two target proteins implicated in the pathogenesis of malaria: Plasmodium falciparum erythrocyte membrane protein 1 (PfEMP-1) and Plasmodium falciparum cGMP-dependent protein kinase (PfPKG) and compared with chloroquine drugs. Moreover, some researchers had earlier reported the biological activities of some of the characterized compounds as follows: betulinic acid has reported antiplasmodial activity [ 5 ], ursolic acids have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antiplasmodial, antidiabetic, and anticancer activities [ 10 ], 3-methyl glucose can inhibit the uptake of glucose in Plasmodium falciparum [ 20 ] , and 1,2-benzene dicarboxylic acid diisoctylester has been reported for its antioxidant scavenging activity towards DPPH [ 21 ].…”
