Apigenin inhibits proliferation, migration, invasion and epithelial mesenchymal transition of glioma cells by regulating miR-103a-3p/NEED9/AKT axis

Abstract: Apigenin is one kinds of natural flavonoids from plants. Many researches showed this compound has potential antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anticancer functions. This study aimed to investigate the effects of apigenin on proliferation, migration, invasion, epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT) in glioma cells, and to reveal the underlying mechanism of apigenin. MTT assay indicated the proliferation rate of glioma cells U251 was significantly decreased with the treatment of apigenin in a dosedependent mann… Show more

“…In the analysis of breast cancer proliferation and metastasis inhibition based on the previous cell culture experiments, the anticancer effect of CSE was confirmed through the inhibition of MDA-MB-231 cell growth and reduced mobility. To confirm the effect on cell cycle inhibition and mitochondrial membrane disruption according to the mechanism of apoptosis, the which was identified as a major compound of C. setidens, is a flavonoid-based phytochemical, and flavonoids are known to possess various bioactivities, including antitumor, antioxidant and hepatoprotective effects by controlling mechanisms such as removal of reactive oxygen species, suppression of angiogenesis, and reduction of cell viability and proliferation (Wan & Huang, 2022).…”

“…According to certain research, the food habits of the locals may be connected to this geographic dispersion. Therefore, one of the most efficient ways to prevent glioma is by the consumption of natural plant active components (Wan & Huang, 2022). Immunity and cancer have a specific interaction.…”
