Aplicação de Inversores Multiníveis para Redução do Conteúdo Harmônico das Correntes de uma Máquina PMSM N˜ao-Senoidal

Abstract

This work presents the use of multilevel inverters in a non-sinusoidal permanent magnet synchronous machine to reduce the harmonic content in the currents. Due to the construction of this machine, the back electromotive force presents a non-sinusoidal characteristic, which has as main consequence the presence of ripple in the electromagnetic torque produced by the machine. Such oscillations decrease the efficiency of the machine, and can cause vibrations in the motor shaft, reducing its useful life. To mitigate this, this work uses multilevel inverters with flying capacitors to synthesize voltages with 3, 5, 7 and 9 levels, in order to reduce the harmonic content of the stator currents, and consequently the machine torque. Qualitative analyzes are presented through the total harmonic distortion and ripple in the machine currents, and the weighted total harmonic distortion of the inverter output voltages, comparing the performance of multilevel inverters with a half-bridge inverter of 2 levels. Resumo: Este trabalho apresenta o uso de inversores multiníveis em uma máquina síncrona de ímãs permanentes não-senoidais para a redução do conteúdo harmônico nas correntes. Devido à construção dessa máquina, suas forças contra-eletromotrizes apresentam uma característica não-senoidal, o que tem como principal consequência a presença de oscilações no torque eletromagnético produzido pela máquina. Tais oscilações diminuem a eficiência da máquina, e podem acarretar em vibrações no eixo do motor, diminuindo sua vida útil. Para mitigar isso, este trabalho utiliza inversores multiníveis com capacitores flutuantes para sintetizar tensões com 3, 5, 7 e 9 níveis, visando reduzir o conteúdo harmônico das correntes estatóricas, e por consequência no torque da máquina. Análises qualitativas são apresentadas por meio da distorção harmônica total e do oscilações nas correntes da máquina, e da distorção harmônica total ponderada das tensões de saída do inversor, comparando o desempenho dos inversores multiníveis com um inversor em meia ponte de 2 níveis.
