Abstract:Monitored tomographic reconstruction (MTR) is a potentially powerful tool for dose and time reduction in computed tomography scanning. We are the first to study the issue of practical implementation of MTR protocols in current-generation real-life instruments. We propose an empirical quantitative model for calculating acquisition and reconstruction times. It is demonstrated that projection acquisition order has a significant impact on the time and dose of tomographic experiments. The new alternative acquisitio… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
