Application of 5G new radio for satellite links with low peak‐to‐average power ratios

Abstract: Summary The aim of the paper is to consider feasibility of 5G new radio (NR) over satellite links also known as nonterrestrial networks (NTNs). Large propagation delay and Doppler frequency shift are challenges like is high peak‐to‐average power ratio (PAPR) of 5G NR signal because satellite systems would like to operate at very low‐power amplifier back‐off values.
