Abstract

Through this way I would like to express my words and feelings of deep appreciation and thanks to all the persons and organizations, that directly or indirectly contributed to the development of this PhD thesis.Firstly, to Sixto Malato, my first academic supervisor, always being objective and professional, with a clear goal in sight, with the keenest eye and mind for detail, a founder and true expert in the field of (solar) water treatment. Whose true contribution and utmost dedication to the cause, I will always aim for.
