“…In other words, if the fluorescence spectra of MIP overlaps with the UV-Vis spectra of the target molecule, the target molecule acts as a fluorescence absorber for MIP-CDs, which leads to energy transfer. 18,33,36 In this study, according to Fig. 4, since there is no overlap between the MIP-CDs fluorescence spectra and the UV-Vis spectra of the target molecule (propranolol), the energy transfer mechanism is not possible.…”

“…The dose-response curve for this system displayed a wide linear range (0–1.2 × 10 −6 M) even in the presence of common ionic and molecular interfaces that can be found in biofluids, yielding an LoD of 100−150 × 10 -9 M. All results were validated with HPLC, which emphasizes that the assay is not only interesting because it is handheld and requires little instrumentation but also has enough diagnostic relevance. Over the past two years alone, many similar QD-based MIP assays have been developed for various purposes including medical diagnostics [ [216] , [217] , [218] ], food safety [ 219 , 220 ] and environmental screening [ 221 , 222 ].

“…Work is currently underway to develop a sustainable and cleaner chemistry called Green Chemistry. This trend has also led to the manufacture of QDs as described by Shariati et al [135] The synthesis of CDs from hydrothermal treatment of cedar and their application as cores coated with MIP layers for the fluorescent determination of phenobarbital can be considered as an example. The signal was maintained even in the presence of other compounds present in the plasma sample such as ions, amino acids and other biomolecules, confirming that there is no cross-reactivity or competition for binding sites.…”
