Application of dispersive liquid–liquid–solidified floating organic drop microextraction and ETAAS for the preconcentration and determination of indium

Abstract: A new, simple and efficient method, including dispersive liquid-liquid-solidified floating organic drop microextraction and then electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry, has been developed for the preconcentration and determination of ultratrace amounts of indium. The method was applied to preconcentrate the indium-1-(2-pyridylazo)-2-naphthol complex in 25 μL 1-undecanol. The various factors affecting the extraction efficiency, such as pH, type and volume of extraction solvent, type and volume of dispers… Show more

“…SFODME has proven to be a method of choice for copper determination by flow injection flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FI-FAAS) and graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry [ 74 ]. SFODME has been used to determine indium [ 75 ], lead in food samples [ 76 ], cadmium [ 77 ], and glucocorticoids (e.g., cortisone acetate, prednisone, betamethasone, and dexamethasone) in animal-derived foods [ 78 ]. Recently, SFODME has been helpful for the identification of phenytoin and phenobarbital in plasma and urine samples [ 79 ].…”

“…Few microextraction techniques have been proposed for the determination of indium. Most of them use liquid–liquid dispersive microextraction [ 65 , 67 ], floating drop extraction [ 69 ], ultrasound-assisted extraction [ 70 ] or cloud point extraction [ 27 , 71 ]. Solid-phase extraction, in its different variants, has received more attention.…”
