Multi-agency investments require local coordination, planning, and implementation. GIS allows us to analyze and comprehend real-world processes by constructing and applying manipulation, analytical criteria, and models for daily decision making. This requires a geospatial database with surveyed land, assets, hydro, etc. Survey of India (SOI) is publishing a topographical map of India with significant cities, areas of interest, and a geodetic benchmark. Different states in India have set up a complete geographic database with land parcels, asset mapping, and administrative borders usually based on the national land record modernization program survey. Many state and local governments also have geospatial databases. Existing geospatial database designs are based on individual requirements that have generated a large volume of duplicate, unformatted, unstructured data. These datasets lacked coordination or logical intercorrelation with other departments' datasets. It served a single department's needs. This causes redundant data, low quality, and a lack of data understanding. The problem's appropriate representation is key to solving it. The Study creates a Common Geo Database for the region to improve collaboration and working. After consulting civil, electrical, and planning engineers, a common database is created. GIS adoption has improved day-to-day decision-making.

The National Aerial Photo Database is a collection of aerial photographs obtained through aerial photography using specific cameras or sensors with manned or unmanned aerial vehicles across the territory of the Republic of Indonesia. These photographs are stored in a computer system for easy access, management, and updating. No national aerial photo database system currently meets the need for accurate and complete aerial photos and other geospatial information to support decision-making. The present study aimed to develop a model for the National Aerial Photo Database from a geospatial intelligence perspective based on statutory regulations. The collection of aerial photo data in a centralized database commenced with scanning negative film based on location and flight paths and copying all digital data. The original negative films were scanned at 20 μm resolution in a Vexcel Ultrascan 5000 photogrammetry scanner. The resulting size of one scanned photo is 140 Mb to 160 Mb. This research adopts a qualitative research method with a case study approach. This research involved the electronic implementation of geospatial data and information by utilizing Geographic Information System (GIS) software, image and geospatial information data management, and the Scrum framework. This research concluded that geospatial intelligence efforts can better understand activity patterns, infrastructure development, and potential threats in the national territory. The insights gained from the aerial photo database aid in identifying trends, detecting anomalies, and assessing risks, all of which are critical for better decision-making in national security.

The absence of an integrated geospatial database hinders effective decision-making among various stakeholders in national projects and programs. The study aimed to create an integrated geospatial database for the Manesar tehsil, District Gurugram, Haryana. Another objective was to create a land use map to analyze the temporal change in land use patterns and its socioeconomic impact along the surrounding areas. The first stage of the study involved creating an integrated database after interviewing different stakeholders. In the second stage, the satellite imagery was georeferenced using Ground Control Points, and the land use patterns were digitized using Landsat imagery for 1987, 2011, 2014, and 2022. The study suggested that the construction area has grown up to 6% while cultivation has dropped significantly from 76% in 1987 to 50% in 2022. Likewise, the industrial area has grown up to 2% and natural vegetation dropped in coverage from 11% to 4%. The area witnessed a population growth rate of 3.2% per year and a decadal growth rate of 39.7%. Less than 50% of the land in the tehsil is used for agricultural purposes. It estimates that 4% of the tehsil's entire surface was covered by natural vegetation in 2019, down from 11% in 1987. The study recommends the creation of an integrated geospatial database that will help reduce duplication and speed up decision-making in government. This will pave the way for improving e-governance in local bodies. The framework created for developing the database system is universally applicable and can be used appropriately by other states, regions, and the entire country.
