Application of Image Simulation of Arc Characteristics in Low Voltage Miniature Circuit Breakers

Abstract: Abstract. Miniature circuit breakers (MCBs) are widely used to protect electrical facilities within commercial, domestic and light industrial buildings. Arc motion in low voltage (240 VAC) high current (103-104A.) current limiting-circuit breakers is dominated by arc root mobility. In the recent years, computer image simulation of arc characteristics has important application in the investigation and development of technical low voltage MCBs.
