Abstract:The paper presents a survey of the current applications of large-eddy simulation for the prediction of supersonic jet noise. After summarizing far-field jet noise prediction methods, it pays special attention to relationship between numerical and modeling choices and to the numerical techniques used. A listing of some of the open questions and future directions concerning jet noise predictions using largeeddy simulation concludes the survey.
