Application of mathematical statistics to evaluate the efficiency of using modern machines

Abstract: This article describes the engineering task of wear research, when a part is turned off after a known overhaul service life and its wear is determined. It is examined how the asymmetry coefficient is determined, the modal wear value corresponding to the largest ordinate of the normal wear distribution, etc. The figures presented in the paper illustrate the right-hand and left-hand asymmetry observed during accelerated wear, as well as the typical curve of the wear distribution of machine parts.
