Application of Neural Network in the Identification of the Cumulative Production from AB unit in Main pays Reservoir of South Rumaila Oil Field.

Abstract: A common field development task is the object of the present research by specifying the best location of new horizontal re-entry wells within AB unit of South Rumaila Oil Field. One of the key parameters in the success of a new well is the well location in the reservoir, especially when there are several wells are planned to be drilled from the existing wells. This paper demonstrates an application of neural network with reservoir simulation technique as decision tool. A fully trained predictive artificial fee… Show more

“…The limitations may be simply applied to the initial population because we had control over the initialization procedure. The infill well placement problem is described by the following constraints [18][19][20]: 1-Total oil saturation plus the amount of oil still in the reservoir. The soil oil saturation at the place where the infill well is intended to be constructed must be more than or equal to the soil oil saturation (Soil).…”

“…This field is near the border with Kuwait and it is recognized as one of the largest oil fields globally [13]. It is approximately located 50 kilometers west of Basra and 30 kilometers west of Zubair oilfield [14]. It covers 1,600 square kilometers, roughly 80 km in the north-south, and 20 km in the west-east of the West-Qurna oilfield.…”

“…To meet the demand for evaluating and developing reservoirs, it may be possible to predict their performance more precisely by using comprehensive and complicated full-field reservoir models, which have become essential. In contrast to the substantial capital expenditures necessary for reservoir development, the increased knowledge and confidence in the information produced from sophisticated field-scale simulation helps the decision-making process be more reliable [2]. The reservoir model validation is the most difficult step since it requires an understanding of geoscience and reservoir engineering [3].…”
