Abstract:In this study, the vitrification of asbestos-cement waste (ACW) and glass cullet from cathode-ray tubes (CRTs) was performed. The resulting product of vitrification from the abovementioned waste was used as the reinforcing phase in a composite with the AA7075 alloy matrix. The composite was made by means of the FSP (friction stir processing) method.
