Application of the 5E Learning Cycle Learning Model to Increase Student Learning Motivation in Sound Wave Material

Abstract: This learning model consists of five stages, namely: (1) Engagement (generating interest), (2) Exploration, (3) Explanation, (4) Extend (expansion), and (5) Evaluation. In fact, from the results of observations made at the SMA Negeri Unggul Subulussalam school, it was found that the motivation of students still low. The purpose of this study was to increase students' learning motivation by applying the 5E Learning Cycle model to sound wave material. This research is a quantitative research type of non-equivale… Show more

“…The validity and practicality of the discovery learning e-module on environmental change, suggests that the model itself is effective, but further research is needed to understand its impact on critical thinking skills. The potential of the discovery learning model to improve higher-order thinking skills and metacognitive awareness suggests that it may be a valuable tool for improving critical thinking in the context of environmental change (Ayuningsih & Muna, 2023;López et al, 2023).…”

“…The causes of lecturer errors include lack of mastery of concepts, lack of teaching preparation, inappropriate teaching methods, and lack of attitude of lecturers, resulting in a lack of relationship with students. The context in question is the existence of a general assumption, which is a misconception so that it is followed again by students (Aini et al, 2023;Hunaidah Hunaidah et al, 2022).…”

“…The 5E learning model, based on the constructivist approach, enables students to use their knowledge and skills actively and improves students' motivation (Pirci & Torun, 2020). Furthermore, several studies in the literature stated that the 5E learning model enhanced learning motivation in science classes (Guven et al, 2022;Putra et al, 2018;Rizki et al, 2023). Studies have also demonstrated that the 5E learning model, as an application of constructivist learning theory, positively affects students' motivation, attitude, and success (Demir & Emre, 2020;Putra et al, 2018;Yalcin Altun et al, 2010).…”
