Application of the relativistic mean-field mass model to ther-process and the influence of mass uncertainties

Abstract: A new mass table calculated by the relativistic mean field approach with the state-dependent BCS method for the pairing correlation is applied for the first time to study r-process nucleosynthesis. The solar r-process abundance is well reproduced within a waiting-point approximation approach. Using an exponential fitting procedure to find the required astrophysical conditions, the influence of mass uncertainty is investigated. R-process calculations using the FRDM, ETFSI-Q and HFB-13 mass tables have been used… Show more

“…To examine how well δR 1p−1n (Z, N ) ≈ 0 can reach in precision when going far away from stability, for each isobaric chain with mass A, we parametrize the distance between the nuclide (Z, A − Z) and the nuclide (Z 0 , A − Z 0 ) in the β-stability line [23] by the isobaric distance from stability ε = |Z 0 − Z| with…”

“…Considering that the relativistic mean-field theory is very successful in describing various nuclear phenomena [44][45][46][47][48][49][50] and nuclear inputs in astrophysics [51][52][53][54][55], we explore the single-particle resonances in deformed nuclei based on the relativistic mean-field theory with the Dirac equation as…”
