Abstract: Background and objective A treatment approach that is widely used as a permanent and natural replacement for missing or extracted teeth is dental implants .VR is a computer-generated simulation that creates a three-dimensional (3D) image or environment. Advances in VR -based learning allow learners and students to practice and also help professionals plan a wide variety of surgical procedures, including the correct placement of dental implants. Therefore, in this systematic review, our aim was … Show more

“…It's also declared that this higher self-confidence is associated with an enhanced comprehensive transfer of knowledge obtained during VR training's multisensory integrated experience [ 20 ]. In general, VR simulators provide the possibility of evaluating different areas of the body for the diagnosis, planning, and training of dental surgery and can create tremendous development in this field in the future [ 38 40 ]. In line with previous statements, other studies show that the VR groups generally acquired higher knowledge scores than the traditional control groups.…”

“…Although the navigation tool assists in better implant positioning and drilling operations, they do not provide the operator to grasp the feel of bone drilling and surgeon has to frequently look away from the surgical site on to the screen. It was then virtual reality which enables us to feel the sense of sight and touch integrated to the oral implantology 5 . The advent of virtual reality in oral implantology could bridge the short comings and enables the surgeon to feel the sense of sight and touch of implant placement…”
