Applications of various forms of chlorhexidine in dentistry – a review

Abstract: Chlorhexidine is a chemical antiseptic agent which is used extensively in the field of dentistry. It is effective against both gram positive and gram negative organisms. It has both bacteriostatic and bacteriocidal act spray, root canal irrigant, gel, lozenges, varnish, tooth brush disinfectant, chewing gum, intracanalmedicament, incorporated GIC, Chlorhexidine coated tooth picks. This article highlights the various forms of chlorhexidine and its applications in dentistry.
