Applying Plugging Technology to Fire Prevention of Mining without Coal Pillar

Abstract: The technology of mining without coal pillar is popular in many mine, though it can improve the recovery rate, it aggravate the air leakage of gob. Because of the ignorance about oxidation in gob, so it is very difficult to know the true value. When we make the test, we find computer can do it that simulation is consistent with reality overall. The article simulate the velocity field and oxygen concentration by finite element method, so divide the ‘three zones’ of gob and analysis the differences before and af… Show more

“…An important part of this industrial model is the backfilling of powerplant fly ash underground [4][5][6], which is mainly used for the reinforcement of surrounding rock mass [7][8][9], face end plugging [10], and spontaneous ignition of remnant coal within the gob [11,12]. Meanwhile, in order to prevent air leakage of the coal face and fires in the gob [13][14][15][16][17], the coal face ends need to be backfilled. Therefore, face end backfilling represents one of the main sources of mine fly-ash destruction.…”

“…Coal pillar mining is not only a waste of coal resources, and coal pillars left in the mined-out area has also brought the security risks of coal spontaneous combustion. No coal pillar mining can reduce roadway coal, fundamentally eliminate the material base of coal spontaneous combustion, but also eliminates the hidden danger of coal spontaneous combustion [1][2] .In order to solve the non-pillar mining technology of high methane and spontaneous combustion coal seam, many mining areas have studied the air flow and gas distribution law of coal mine, combined with the actual production, in the experimental and the theoretical analysis, And the safety technical measures for the mining of high gas seam without pillar are worked out [2][3] .…”
