Abstract:Corrosion processes of steel in concrete contaminated with chlorides take place as macrocell corrosion as well as self‐corrosion (i.e., microcell corrosion). While macrocell corrosion can be detected by element current measurement, self‐corrosion cannot be precisely determined electrochemically.
