Abstract: Prevention of donor-derived disease among pediatric solid organ transplant recipients requires judicious risk-benefit assessment. Comprehensive guidelines outline specific donor risk factors and post-transplant monitoring strategies to prevent and mitigate transmission of HIV, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C.
