The paper is devoted to analysing the use of whiteboards in maritime education and training of cadets of the ship engineering department. This research highlights the benefits of incorporating interactive whiteboards into maritime education and provides practical recommendations for educators aiming to enhance environmental awareness among future maritime professionals. Whiteboards provide a promising way to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. This ensures cadets are equipped with the essential skills and awareness needed to navigate the challenges of a rapidly evolving maritime industry while prioritising environmental sustainability. The findings demonstrate a significant improvement in cadets' understanding of environmental concepts and their ability to apply sustainable practices in real-world maritime scenarios. Cadets expressed higher levels of engagement and motivation when learning through interactive whiteboards, citing the dynamic and immersive nature of the technology as a contributing factor. Moreover, faculty members reported enhanced teaching capabilities and the ability to address individual learning needs effectively. This work highlights the potential of using whiteboards (e.g. Whiteboard.fi, Miro) to enhance environmental awareness. It suggests further research to explore its effectiveness in other educational contexts.

The paper is devoted to using innovative technologies in the professional training of future ship engineers. It highlights the need for tutors to make lessons interesting and exciting and to create a situation where every cadet can be active. The research emphasises that the main target of maritime education today is not just to accumulate knowledge and skills but to prepare cadets as independent subjects of educational activity who can learn and upgrade their knowledge. The article describes the benefits of digital technologies for online maritime education and training, including various videoconference services. It also discusses the psychological theory of learning based on the psychology of human relationships, which is crucial to interactive learning technologies. The paper concludes by describing various technologies for information visualisation, such as cloud technologies and gamification, and recommends tools like Mentimeter, Aha Slides, and Poll Everywhere for collaborative work and knowledge exchange. The research also suggests that using whiteboard resources during Maritime English lessons can serve cadets as a visual platform for displaying essential Maritime English vocabulary, supporting interactive discussions, conducting simulated exercises and role-playing scenarios.

The paper is devoted to the analysis of the evolution process of assessment practices in online maritime education within electronic educational environments (EEEs). It is highlighted that with the increasing popularity of EEEs worldwide, especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic, online education has become a crucial tool for ensuring continued access to learning. It is mentioned that despite the growing importance of e-learning platforms, there remains a gap in understanding best practices, trends, and innovations in assessment methods within this context. A comparison analysis of the most popular e-learning platforms is conducted in the study. The benefits of Moodle while online maritime education are mentioned in the article. The results of the study showed that Moodle has many tools and instruments for future ship engineers who want to study maritime English. The study also found that Moodle offers flexibility, interactivity, and efficiency in evaluating students' learning progress and outcomes with the help of these tools and instruments. This work highlights that while Moodle's assessment tools are effective, teachers can enhance the teaching and learning experience for both themselves and their cadets.
